    How would people feel about letting crash be a playable character in a proper Doom title she is part of the Doom universe. They might want to give her proper Doom Slayer though her Distaff counterpart version of the Doomguy armor is very dated to the 90's the midriff makes no sense on a space marine

    Well, maybe not all of them, haha. It's just, after learning to fast weapon switch/kill in Doom 2016, I yearn for that sensation in other games. A feature like that means you have multiple potential decisions to make per second. More agency, more ways to express yourself as a player. I love it.

    Yesterday, I fired up Quake 1 to see if fast weapon switch applies there. I've played that game for two decades, and let's use the Shambler as an example. For 20 years, I'd SSG, take cover against lightning bolt, repeat. Only after Doom 4 did I learn I can barely sneak in a standard shotgun blast with a quick swap, or pop in some extra super nails. The fast weapon swap concept opened up so much. I played through Q1's campaign again, refusing to ever cheese/exploit, dive in aggressively, weapons always on the switch, moving not just constantly, but unpredictably (as I learned on my Ultra Nightmare run). It was so much fun.

    I then tried out Quake 2, and it broke my heart to realize the weapon swap animation was so slow. Again, I've played Q1 and Q2 for decades, and this only became an issue as of yesterday. Any supposedly fast paced FPS without quick weapon switch would feel disappointing at this stage.

    Thanks for hearing me out! Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from the Doom/Quake veterans out there.
