    It's 2004 all over again. Doom vs Half Life in 2020!

    I remember back then in 2004, it was all the rage of the gaming journalism, or atleast the magazines I used to buy, in the same year Half life 2 and Doom 3 were coming out, and they were both marvelous games that pushed the technology and fps gameplay ahead. Now in 2020 it all happens again, in the same month aswell, March! Sure the platform is different but Eternal is also launching for Stadia and Alyx strictly for VR, they're still companies that make sure that their game is ahead of it's time. It's going to be one amazing year for gaming! I'm just happy really.

    Edit because so many comments had roughly the same reply: As much as I love Doom 1993, I also love Doom 2016 and Doom 2. 2016 only comes in slightly behind because I have so many good memories of Doom 1993 and its mods, especially of running them on hardware that is in no way suited to Doom 2016. It also has literally endless replayability IMO because of said mods, the great level design and the very, very solid core gameplay.

    I hope in the final release, the window is transparent like it was in 2018. Mostly because it technically follows a level design rule from Romero: "If the player can see it, they should be able to get there somehow" like the soulsphere in E1M3.

    Best settings on GLBoom+ for a classic experience?

    I'd like to know what the best settings are for a classic experience are on the GLBoom+ sourceport. I would use Chocolate or Crispy Doom but I like my resolution. Which settings would I want for things like some blind/deaf monsters, infinite height, etc?

    As someone who just finished DOOM 2 and Thy Flesh Consumed just recently, I got into this fandom in 2016 when DOOM 4 came out on my freshman year of high school. Ever since, I beat Ultimate Doom Senior year, and I was kinda hoping what WADs you guys would recommend. Please, no joke WADs like Nuts or Terry WADs
