Posted: 10 Nov 2019 05:11 AM PST Hello everyone, I'm doing my PhD in marketing and I'm focusing on esports sponsorships. From May 2019 until now I have done 4 surveys. This is the last one. ATTENTION: Don't fill out this survey if you filled out the 2nd one, they are the same and have the same title (I'm reposting the 2nd survey because this is the most important one and I need a very large sample). All surveys are anonymous and done on Google Forms. The data from the surveys will only be used for my PhD thesis and to develop 6 articles that will be published in scientific journals. The participation of all esports fans is extremely important and greatly appreciated (survey is only for people who watch/participate in esports). This survey takes about 8 minutes to complete and is related to the opportunities, threats, and strategies of sponsoring esports. Here is the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUacl74DMc_BofKbD90NwRmohYAAgBlXmjjG_-P3QBmP6hCw/viewform?usp=sf_link Thank you so much in advance. I understand that this subreddit is not strictly related to esports but, since it has a gamer user-base, there may be some who watch/participate in esports. I'm also posting the survey on esports-related subreddits but, from a researcher standpoint, only posting there would mean that I'd only be inquiring the most enthusiastic esports fans, which would introduce a bias. In this sense, it is also important to place the survey on general gaming subreddits where people who simply like esports (but are not enthusiastic about them) may also exist and participate. If you are interested in easily following the results of this research, you can follow me here on Reddit or on Twitter: @EsportsAnalyses. Results are expected to be posted in this subreddit and on Twitter by the end of 2020. This survey has been approved by the kind moderators. [link] [comments]

Just beat Doom 2016 which was absolutely great, but Eternal? Posted: 10 Nov 2019 05:28 PM PST So i just beat Doom 2016 and it was terrific. The atmosphere, game play, gun play, level sets, how the Doom slayer was presented. Everything was wonderful despite the hallway-arena-hallway schtick and while Mars landscape and the Hell landscape was amazing it got old from constantly seeing red all the time. Now here my question. Is Eternal being done by a different team? Doom 2016 seems like classic ID but Eternal seems like Serious Sam influenced? I mean both are good flavors to have but they are different flavor of shooters all the same. Not sure how i feel about it. The whole you have a life power up and arcade game-play hud kinda throws me off. It's just kinda of a different feel like the ID we know from classic doom. I watched a Doom Eternal video where doom slayer was launched from a cannon and through a wall in space when he's not really wearing a space suit since his biceps are exposed. Feels like their pushing for a Serious-sam-saturday-morning-cartoon. I'm a bit perplexed of the grim nature Doom 2016 had is being thrown out the window. [link] [comments]

You are tasked with narrowing down Doom's music catalogue to just 12 songs; what makes the cut? Posted: 10 Nov 2019 08:33 PM PST If you've been reading the news around here, you might have thought about which songs you'd want to accompany the Doom Slayer if he were to appear in any other notable game series. While getting something like... say, 50 tracks would be highly unlikely, suppose you had to cut down a list of Doom's history of great music into a wishlist of only a dozen songs; what would you include? What would you feel bad about cutting? What would your ratio of classic-to-modern songs look like? Are there any you would want remixed specifically for the Doom Guy's out-of-franchise adventures? (Some examples are given below.) I think it's fairly safe to assume that two of those tracks would have to be At Doom's Gate and BFG Division. I don't think anyone would really argue against them being there. To get the ball rolling, I have concocted this list (in no particular order):
And there's a lot of great tunes I feel bad for not including on this list. Rust, Dust & Guts and Flesh & Metal from Doom 2016, In The Dark, The Healer Stalks from Doom 2, Facing the Spider, Nobody Told Me About id and Suspense from Doom 1 are all great too. This isn't even including the possibility of Doom 64 tracks, the Doom 1 PSX OST from Aubrey Hodges, Final Doom exclusives or even the possibility of getting some Doom: Eternal tracks. What would you like to see, Slayers? [link] [comments]
Doom 3 now updated for Eternal skins. Posted: 10 Nov 2019 02:20 PM PST Just a heads-up, Doom 3 is now updated on consoles (can't confirm Switch) so that it links with your Bethesda.net account and unlocks the skin and emblem for Eternal. [link] [comments]
