    I really liked Doom 2016 (but have never played a Doom game before it), but despite that I was skeptical that Doom eternal will be as interesting as the previous installment, simply because I thought they couldn't add much to the formula established. However, I was blown away by the demo I played today, the new movement mechanics really work here on improving the platforming and combat further, it is bloodier, and faster this time. But it doesn't end there, new enemy types are also introduced here as well as the classics. Some of these new ones are tentacles that will attack if you stay in one place for too long and demons that spawn shields to pin you down in one position. Some enemies are armed with weapons now and it is recommended to destroy those first to weaken them, which makes finishing them off easier. What I really hope though is that this time the game doesn't feel as repetitive as the first one did. Obviously this can be avoided if they provide us with a good variety of guns, bosses, enemies and platforming sections that will give us a healthy dose of everything Doom has to offer. Looking forward to it! Don't mess this up please.

    In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace, and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Doom Slayer.

    When the demons were slain, the demon lord was slain, and the battle was won. Now the Darklands fell into utter chaos as all the warring races settled in for a long winter. Yet, the Doom Slayer was not to be defeated.

    The Doom Slayer, the Great War Champion, rose again to seek revenge, in his own right, among his own kind. He slew all who'd wronged him, and those who had slain his friends were but shadows themselves. All but one, a being of such power that even the dark lords knew his name. Yet the Doom Slayer did not fear. His power was so great that no other would be able to even touch him.

    The Great War Champion, who knew of his name but knew nothing else, was the Doom Slayer's greatest adversary. His name was Krell, the Shadow King.

    Krell was a being whose power was greater than even that of the Doom Slayer. Though he was a demon, he had the intellect of an elder race. His cunning was far greater than that of a mortal, and his abilities were also far greater than any mortal could ever reach. He could command demons and shape the very sky with his mind. He could summon legions of shadow creatures and shape the dark to his whim. He could summon any of the demons he wished, and his creations could also obey him.

    But the Doom Slayer did not fret. Even though he was out match and out guned, stuck in the fires of hell, he knew he could beat him.

    The time came, they met in the middle of the Umbral Plains ready for battle. Krell, in his full power, took the Doom Slayer's helm and fought all the better to kill the Doom Slayer.

    Krell's first blow caught the Doom Slayer by surprise, knocked off his armor so easily that he barely had enough time for his blade to slice the Doom Slayer's chest. The Doom Slayer's armor shattered before he hit Krell's blade.

    The Doom Slayer took off his helmet and swung, sending Krell flying. The Doom Slayer's body slumped in pain. Krell's chest was bleeding but kept stabbing at the Doom Slayer.

    He took off the Doom Slayer's chest plate and sliced at the Doom Slayer's chest

    Once the Doom Slayer's chest plate fell off, the Doom Slayer's body fell dead. He was surrounded by a bloody blood trail. Krell started to cheer as a horde of demons surrounded the Slayer's body. But then the Slayer got up and attacked Kerll and his demons. The Doom Slayer fought his way through the demons all the way to Kerll. Krell was hit by the Slayer's sword and fell to the ground. The Slayer tore Kerll legs off and blood flew everywhere.

    Krell who was in pain yelled out, "The Lord of Doom is here, but my son is gone." His words mean nothing to the Doom Slayer who proceeded to kill Krell by cutting off his arm. The demon screaming in agony as he bled.

    Krell was finally killed off and the Slayer went into a cave and sat in front of a fire, waiting for his next victim.
